We will leave Quito at approximately 8:00 a.m. and head south to one of Ecuador's most important protected areas and one of the most popular among mountaineers worldwide: Cotopaxi Volcano and National Park (5,897 meters above sea level). We will visit Limpiopungo Lagoon (3,896 meters above sea level), a place where we can appreciate the different species of flora and fauna in the area. Afterwards, we will arrive at the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center. Here, it is important to learn about the phases of the páramo, as well as the origin of springs and various lagoons. Along the way, we will come across the home of Julián, who lives in the Andes at over 3,500 m. There, we will appreciate his authentic lifestyle with a special animal that shares the house: the guinea pig. In fact, according to their beliefs, it is the one that protects them from bad energies, hence its name. Here we can also observe the various plantations of Andean products, such as various types of tubers. Lunch (not included).
We will continue to the "Los Ilinizas" Ecological Reserve, but first passing through the Toachi River Canyon. Arrival and dinner in Quilotoa. Accommodation and rest.
